The Danish Architecture Centre is hosting Sustainable Cities™ - a global database containing knowledge on the sustainable planning of cities and best practice cases from all over the world.

The aim of Sustainable Cities™ is to inspire politicians, architects, city planners, businesses, NGO’s and citizens all over the world to learn from each other and to collaborate with each other to transform the worlds less sustainable cities into the more sustainable cities of future.

”Wise decisions regarding the future of our cities can be made only if necessary and relevant knowledge is assembled and presented. DAC has committed itself to bringing about this crucial knowledge and place it in one, central database“, says Henning Thomsen, head of DACs Sustainable Cities division.

At sustainablecities.dk you will find valuable advice and inspiration on subjects such as better public transport, optimization of waste management, reduction of energy consumption, management of waste water and much more.  You can read the cases, dive into the learning points, study the facts and watch images and films. New cases and new initiatives will continually be added to the database.

The next step of the Sustainable Cities™ database is to establish an online network for city planners and others interested in sustainable city development, where you can share projects, articles and debates on the subject.

The Sustainable Cities™ database is operated by Danish Architecture Centre and sponsored by Realdania.
